Re-Elect Mayor Molly

Candidate Statement
I love living in Coupeville and am honored to serve our community as Mayor since 2016. The people who live here come from diverse backgrounds and have a lot to offer. They never hesitate to get involved, help find solutions to issues we may be facing, and give generously of their time to our nonprofits. One of the greatest benefits of being Mayor is the opportunity to meet and work with such good people.
Our town is home to the Island County seat, the only hospital serving Island County, the Coupeville School District, a very unique historic commercial district, and many other businesses. These organizations use our utilities, streets, and law enforcement services. It is noteworthy that our small town population of 1,900 residents doubles during the week when students and employees come to these facilities. This number also doubles on the weekends during peak tourist season. This creates unique issues and challenges to make sure everyone’s needs are met. It makes coming to work different and interesting every single day. I love this job!

As Mayor, my goal is to get as much work done for our residents and businesses while also being responsible for the financial and staffing resources we have. I successfully obtain grant funding to supplement taxpayer dollars, implement creative staffing solutions, and collaborate with partners to maximize the work we can accomplish throughout Coupeville. I balance being fiscally careful with being flexible when priorities change and funding presents itself. There is always exciting work to be done in Coupeville and I appreciate your vote to continue that work with our wonderful town staff!
